German brutal death metal act Acranius is back with their 3rd full length release, Reign of Terror
Violence, death and torture are only the beginning when you press play on Reign of Terror. The music is gripping and has this unending energy about it. If it’s not chunky filled gore groove it’s pummeling tremolo riffs blazing through corpses. Then not to mention you have so much excellently placed bass work laid out for added power. Toss in the drumming excellency and wonderful vocal work and you have a proper brutal death metal album ladies and gentlemen. One of my favorites so far this year!
Reign of Terror drops Jan 27th, 2017 on Rising Nemesis Records. Be on the lookout for this one. It’s the heavy hitting brutal death metal album you need in your life. Now some people may be put off by the deathcore styled riffs on this album, so if you are nit picky about chugging and breakdowns then you may be put off a little by Acranius‘ writing process. However, even taking this into consideration, they lay out these songs in an entertaining manner and the riffs are solid. I am really not into deathcore anymore but Reign of Terror is an exception.
